ACORN

MEMBER INFO

Just when you think the Acorn Nuts have been cracked and their funding is cut off, up they pop again.  Turns out the funding was only cut off until Oct 31 and unless something is done they will start receiving funds again as of November 1, 2009.   Let’s not let them get away with it.  Please send this fax to your senators.

TEXT OF FAX

Dear [Senator],

I am writing to ask that you Suspend and Bar ACORN from receiving Federal Funds.

I understand that President Obama signed a Continuing Resolution on October 1, 2009, as Congress hasn’t passed the Appropriations Bills for funding government programs for the new fiscal year.  While this allows for government programs to run at their current spending levels for one month, it expires on October 31, 2009.

Congress did include a provision in Division B that prohibited ACORN from accessing federal funding (Sec. 163) but that too expires on October 31, 2009. Unless the ACORN Prohibition Language is written into each of the appropriation bills, ACORN will have access to funding once again! In the event that it is written into the appropriations bills for fiscal year 2010, it will expire at the end of September 2010. This has to stop!

The American people are paying attention. We know what’s going on behind close doors. The corruption and deceit has got to come to an end! We will bring change in 2010. Suspend and Bar ACORN once and for all from Federal Funding!

Thank you for listening to a constituent’s opinion.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

[Your State and District]
